When migrating and getting a lot of path too long messages, users may want to change folder names or structure. It would interesting if a folder structure tool could be made to easily change the folder hierarchy and names before the migration14 votes

We are not planning on adding migration capabilities for new source of data in the foreseeable future so we will decline this suggestion.
We prefer to offer a solid experience in the world of Microsoft than to add too many sources.
Thank you for your understanding.
Would be nice to be able to backup permission and use the backup to bring them back the way they were.16 votes

With the new offering from Microsoft, there will be plenty of existing users of comparable collaboration software/SaaS that will be interesting in using Microsoft Teams.
Please add to the roadmap to provide such a feature (e.g. from Slack to Microsoft Teams)!11 votes
Add the possibility to add permissions at the item level with the reporting tool.
We are currently reconsidering this suggestion and are wondering if it is still a need for you, especially if you are an Office 365 user.
Let us know and we will reevaluate this eventually.
Allowing to migrate list or site templates ahead of time could save a lot of time for many users instead of recreating at destination14 votes

Recently, we launched ShareGate Apricot, a tool that offers to delegate the decision of archiving stale groups to users.
That being said, an office 365 backup feature is not something we are planning to add to ShareGate Desktop. We’ll still keep the suggestion opened to new votes and comments and keep our eyes on it. But for now, it is not part of our priorities.
We’ll update the suggestion if our plans change.
It would be extremely helpful to have a compare permissioins. Often I have time where one user can do something but another user that should be able to can't. If I could compare the permissions between the two users I could get everyone up and running quicker.
Also loving the new layout so far!12 votes

Since ShareGate Desktop now allow us to automatically export migration reports (and other reports) when a task is done to a SharePoint library, you may easily setup a Microsoft Flow or workflow to notify you when a task is over. If you need some inspiration, I wrote a blog post on how users can leverage Microsoft Flow to share reports by email: https://sharegate.com/blog/use-microsoft-flow-automatically-send-sharegate-desktop-reports
It’s not a native way to get notified, but a nice workaround you could use until we add official email notifications (if we do at some point).
When I first trialed this solution I got great value from a report that detailed what sharepoint artifact was shared with an external user and who shared it.
I can't seem to find that report now, can one of you help me locate or recreated it?
- Model PMR extract in Excel as Pivot Tables and charts.
- It would be useful to be able to export the permissions matrix report as a PDF file, as well as a spreadsheet.
-Export the PMR as a HTML report
Some sites have the Content Organizer feature activated and there are hundreds of rules defined. We would like to be able to copy those while migrating our sites.9 votes
Microsoft Project Online7 votesLP Lavoie responded
Because Project is backed by SharePoint for document storage, you could possibly migrate that part. But specific support for the entire workload is unfortunately not currently on the radar.

I was going through the comments in this thread and clearly understood your desire of visibility over user alerts (who created them, type of alerts, etc.) but I am curious to hear how the info would be used, how you would consume the info and most importantly, do you also feel the need to take any kind of actions over the alerts?
I hope I’ll hear from you soon!
