Progress Indicator of Pre-check & Migration
Display more details while operation is running and as summary on completion:
- Elapsed time
- Breakdown by sites, lists/librairies, files, items instead of just "items" and "objects" count
- Possibility to drill down progress breakdown by site, by list
- Size of processed data (+ total if possible)
- Inbound / Outbound network speeds
- Remaining time (if possible)
- Time / size of Azure upload jobs
For Migrations in PowerShell, add -vebose like cmdlet to allow users to see the progress of the migration instead of waiting for the migration to finish/script execution to end.
We don’t plan on adding progress indicator as we feel it would only become misleading because estimation are really hard to make due to technical limitations.
Even a best guess in the amount completed and what stage would be beneficial. At least SPMT does that. Many of us know that 99% finished doesn't necessarily mean that it will be finished soon - at least we have a gauge on its progress.
During the copying process it better to have an status update.
For example %age or pending items etc..
I just completed my first migration which took much longer than I anticipated. It would be great to have some kind of progress meter to show the estimated time that it will take to migrate, or at least showing a percentage of how many files/items have been processed out of the total number that need to be processed. That would be extremely helpful.

hi , it would be good to have a progress bar with percentage and time as to how far a migration would take to complete.

While the copying operation is in progress, it would be helpful to see number of pending operations, in addition to Results, Successes, Errors, and Warnings
I have used the migration tool to move files from a shared network location to SharePoint. There are a couple bits of feedback that I would find very helpful. The first is a display of the count of files to be transferred, so that I can get an idea of how many files and where I am in the process. The second is some kind of process bar, again so that I can see how far along the process is at. Finally, it would be great to have a success message to let me know thta the migration is complete. These things may be already there, but I have not seen how to get that infomation. Thank you and kind regards,

To add functionality, it would be very helpful to add a percentage and time remaining estimate for task within the Copy section.
When running a report if there could be some estimate of remaining time for completion.
I have recently used the Microsoft Migration tool v2 and they can show a progress bar on the total of files for completion and a progress bar and that is running a very basic tool.
Show a progress bar during a migration in order to know if it,s almost finished or not.
Antoine, is there a way that Sharegate could scan the site and say "this will take more than XX hours in Insane mode / normal mode"? Just having an idea of how long it will take will help.
Whenever we are migrating, we do not have any idea, how much time it is going to take.
If we can know the estimated time or remaining time to complete the migration, we can plan the other things accordingly.
It will be really really helpful, if you can add this functionality.
If you can't provide a time (because that can depend on the server or computer resources processing the migration), can you add an item countdown? I am processing what I thought was a relatively small structure copy that is now on its 14th hour. It would be great to know if it has 100 items left or 1,000.
Hello, it would be useful to have an estimated end time for the migration of elements
Is there a way in ShareGate to show how long it will take to copy data via an Import Copy process? Wanted to get an idea if there was a status bar or something that shows time remaining or number of files remaining? The Migration report screen does not provide any details about rate of copy and estaimte of how long. Thanks for any guidance.

While a task is running, it would be great to have some indication of how far along in the process it is and/or how much time is remaining until it is complete.

It would be great if we have some feature which calculates the StartTime and EndTime from the migration report as it shows in console, and calculate the timing in HH:MM kind of format to better get the duration calculated rather than using the manual work or the Powershell script. Thank you! :)
Having more details on the upload progress for large files would be very helpful. I'm looking at 6 GB and 4 GB files, and I have no idea how much longer they have, which is frustrating.
It would be great to have a kind of progress bar for sites that are being migrated. Or perhaps a progress bar for the overall migration.
I need to know how much content I'm migrating and how much time I have to wait until completion.
