Paste the Path to Find the File Share Location
-I should not have to browse the file share. It's too big. I should be able to copy the path into the browse window and hit enter
-I would also like the ability to enter a UNC path in the file share
Hi, I would also like the ability for Sharegate to do a file analysis on a UNC path. Right now i have to use 3rd party tools to look for long file paths, large files etc anything that would cause a migration issue. Whilst i can do that using a mapped drive often enterprise customers will work off of UNC paths, or you will have spreadsheets containing this info you just want to supply and analyse, a mapped drive also assumes you need to be logged in for it to be active. It would also be useful as you could do this from powershell as right now you can only migrate using UNCs using powershell commands, so to do the analysis using UNCs would be useful ie.. step 1 run the analysis are potential issues = 0 then run command to migrate tec.
Hi Guys, I LOVE your product (especially with my NFR MVP licence!). I was playing around with this and thought of a new idea. It'd be super cool if you could add UNC paths to the 'Inventory > File Share > Targets' page. It only allows pickup of local mappings, rather than allowing you enter your own UNC path (which some peeps might want if they're looking at network file shares that aren’t locally mapped). What do you reckon? Cheers, Andy!
While selecting the source, no browse button to go and select the files in our file server.
It would be beneficial to allow importing directly from a UNC path, rather than needing to map a drive letter, then import from that drive.
