Preserve Column Default Value Settings on Folders
Default settings set on library should be migrated also, both in library and list as on folders.

Fyi. i had a similar issue. I would have a default set in a destination folder. when migrating content those defaults would not get applied.
Strangly it worked in version 7.3.2 but when i updated to version 8.02 it stopped working. hopefully this helps someone out there ;)

Add on to this: it would be awesome to set these defaults based on some rules on migration.
Can we get the defaults defined at destination?
We use enterprise managed metadata columns in our O365 libraries. When I migrate content from a file share to SharePoint, I was told that the product won't simply accept the default value that I set for the library. Is that true? I can drag/drop copy files in manuallly and they accept the default values, but not if I use the tool? Are there plans to fix that?
Love the twitter feed!

It would be great if sharegate can "migrate" default values on libraries and folders. I have analyzed this a bit more and it is quite "simple" once you understand where it is stored. The only problem is that the "value" in the file is hardcoded, so either you manually have to edit this or your programming gurus can read and change the value through the sharegate engine.
If it is possible to "copy" items from the "form folder" at least the data is not lost, i just then need to change the "location" of the url.. great move microsoft to add this hardcoded,,,

We have folders in our document libraries where we are assigning default metadata when an item is added. These default metadata fields on folders have to be done manually. Sharegate doesn’t offer that. So if we have 100 folders and migrate a site we have to go into those 100 folders and re-assign the default metadata that we want populated when a new item is added. We have coded this functionality now so that way when we migrate a site we don’t have to spend hours reassigning the default metadata.
