Migrating Property Bags
Migrating property bags
Love that you engage with the community, also respect that it's not something you're looking into.
"they are often used with custom solutions and thus add a complexity to the scenario we’d have to support" - I disagree. OOTB stuff is using a lot of property bags (e.g. O365 hub sites? Just a property bag entry). Property bags are also easy to migrate, currently we leverage PnP to do just that (and it works flawlessly) - it'd be very easy to do for Sharegate and also I don't see where this adds complexity..

At the moment, it’s not something we are looking into. For its migration set of features, we try to keep Sharegate in the no-customizations scenarios. Though Property Bags are out of the box, they are often used with custom solutions and thus add a complexity to the scenario we’d have to support.
I’ll keep it in mind for our future roadmap meeting to see if it’s something we can easily add and support though.
Thanks for taking the time to reach out to us with this.
ShareGate -- any news on this? I am also having this problem, our customisations wrote property bag entries and these are lost when migrated to the new farm. Is this a feature you are working on / is there a workaround?
is it possible to somehow migrate the list property bag? We have a few customizations that make use of the property bag. When migrating these lists the customizations stop working.
With kind regards
