Remove All Permission/Turn on Read-Only of Source Site After Migration
Users wish to lock their sites during the migration to avoid having to deal with any user changes, during, or post migration.
Having a feature that would extract all the source site permissions (I'm thinking PMR), strip it and leave it read-only for everyone, and then allow to use the extracted permissions to re-apply them at the destination (or source if they wish to), could be very useful for a good number of users.

Interesting... I'm approaching a tenant collapse into another. The "sending" tenant is heavily restricted in rights, while the receiving tenant is open by default. Merging one to the other will break regulatory requirements

Hi team,
there should be an option to lock the source site while connecting to the sharegate so that there should not be any chance of making changes in sources site by mistakenly. Thanks

I'm performing migrations in our company from local storage to ODB using Sharegate and this option would be very useful. We're running a seperate script to lock the source site, so having this implemented by the Sharegate directly would be more than welcome.

It woiuld be nice if when youstarted a migration process, if the soft could also make each folder, once copied, read only to the users or groups that have access to it at the source destination (NAS). Being able to add user/group exceptions as well that the software will overlook permission changes for.
Hope this makes sense.

When having a read-only lock, users will get denied access an other errors.
If possible, it would be useful if Sharegate could check for a read-only lock on the site collection(s), and throw an appropriate error or warning.

Set Site Collection as read only or NOACCESS
Handle the settings in the Explorer -
Please give me the possibility to set site collection / site / library / list to "read only" from the console. So I can put read only before or after the migration is completed. (Before to be sure nothing changes after it's been migrated). Maybe also add this as an option to a migration job. So it automatically put's the source on read-only after the job finishes

Lock a site from edits and redirect users to new site after migrating a Sharepoint site
As an administrator performing a migration for many sites using the migration tool, it would be very valuable to automate the closing of the origination site (lock from editing) and automatically redirecting users to the new site during a migration project. -

Block site access to end-users while a migration is running.
