Show broken inheritance in the explorer
Something that allows to identify the broken inheritance visually in the explorer.
1 voteGreetings from Sharegate !
We released Sharegate 7.2 this week and I think you’ll be happy to know that we added a “Broken Inheritance” tag in the explorer. So when you navigate inside your site collections, there is now a visual indication that the object has custom permissions.
As always, your feedback is more than welcome, let us know what you think!

List "Calendars"
I am looking for a list "Calendar" and I know that there are "types" such as a Links List and a Custom List, etc. I don't know if the "explorer" or "Reporting" can "list" the types of lists / document libraries (well that's "done" right?) and allow me to find "ahh the Marketing Calendar called "cool stuff" instead of ...Marketing Calendar" Thank you!

Add Number of Users to Reports
I've run into a situation where I can't get access to the SharePoint farm to run my powershell cmdlt to export Users in each web. Since I can copy Users with Sharegate it seems like you guys could easily provide this functionality. Thanks!
1 voteHi,
We don’t have a specific report to do this however we do have a current workaround:
1. New Report
2. Object type : user
3. Run the report on the scope of your choice
4. You will get results of all the users who have access/how many there are -
Write to logfile continuously as the import is taking place
Today, whether importing via Powershell og GUI, the import has to finish without any breakdowns in order to extract the log. It would be better, imho, if Sharegate could write to a logfile continuously as the import progressed. Otherwise you might end up with a partial import and no logs to see the status for those files already imported (or not).
1 voteThis is already the case.

Better definition for the name of Reports
It would be exceedingly helpful if there were descriptions/definitions to go along with the name of the reports. For example, I just ran something sites with basic details.. cool, but i have no idea what it is pulling. Are these sites without a lot of complexity, some other information specification? i have no idea.. which makes it not very useful :/
1 voteHello Janis,
Thank you for your suggestion. I have great news for you! We did add a short description of all the reports in the latest versions of Sharegate. You can simply update the tool (https://en.share-gate.com/download2) to see them.
The sites with basic details is now called “Site report” in the “most popular” section at the top.
I hope this helps. Let me know if you have further comments or suggestions!

Preserve pre-check reports in the UI
It would be useful for users, and support, if pre-check reports were preserved and listed like migration reports in the UI. This could save time if someone needs to go back for troubleshooting purposes, or to see if the migration yields different results
1 voteHello,
Since Sharegate version 7.0, any task ran in Sharegate (migration, pre-check, report, inventory, etc) is kept in the All tasks section. You can also filter them by task type if needed.

ShareGate Version Number
Installed 5.20 yesterday. I was hoping to find an easy way to find version number in app to confirm, but can't find it. (I was looking for an About dialog box.)
Perhaps include ShareGate version number in the Title bar that also serves as a link to more information about the version?
1 voteThe version number is now the first thing you see when you open the new standardized settings!

Report 'Checked Out Documents'
Can Report 'Checked Out Documents' only list checked out documents instead of both checked out documents and locked documents, since all our documents after becoming records are locked.
Thanks!1 voteHello Sharon,
Thank you for taking the time to provide feedback via Sharegate’s Uservoice.
From what I understand, you’d like to run a report that will display only the checked-out documents without the never check-in docs. Well, that’s something that can already be done.
Simply run a report with the follow filters:
Object type : Document
Filters
Checked Out Status IS Checked Out
Never Checked In IS NoI hope this helps!

Change site navigation to start with site collections
It takes me a a very long time to scroll through the thousands of sites to find the site collection I want to report on.
1 voteSharegate 5.23 now present a whole new experience in the explorer. You can now filter by site collections, OneDrive for Business and O365 Groups, and search by name or URL.
Take a look at our blog post : https://en.share-gate.com/blog/introducing-the-improved-sharegate-explorer-an-all-new-experience-for-users -

Actually Sharegate already retains all author names and timestamps when migrating content. If that’s not the case for you, please contact our super-friendly Support team!
Note that, for some combinations of on-premises source & destination, you will need to install our Server Extension to preserve all values – https://support.share-gate.com/hc/en-us/articles/115000640088-List-of-Values-the-Server-Extension-Preserves
Regarding the Word application – That wasn’t written by us! :-) But if any dates don’t appear correct post-migration again do reach out to our Support

Export documents from the report results
be able to export documents bigger than 50mb right from the report
1 voteWith today’s release, we added the ability to download only some files in a document library.
This can be done either directly from the explorer or with the results of a report on documents (which will allow you to filter for desired documents).
Hope you enjoy that new feature.
Don’t hesitate to give us feedback, we always appreciate it!You can find the full release notes here: https://support.share-gate.com/hc/en-us/articles/360001005466

Map Nintex workflow actions
Actions from on-prem that are not supported by Office 365 are replaced by placeholders because we can't be certain the the logic will work. We could offer some sort of action mappings to help some clients fix the issue during the migration when there's many workflows involved.
1 voteWe are just releasing now the possibility to convert Action Set (on-premises) to Run If (O365). Since the Action Set workflow activity does not exist in the O365 version of Nintex Workflow, this is the closest / best we could do to preserve the encapsulated inner actions.

Open in ShareGate migration from ShareGate explorer
I'd like it if there was something like an export button in the sharegate explorer. I often need to back up a list or library somewhere before I delete it.
Copying the link to the migration tool from the explorer requires quite a few clicks (open in browser, copy URL, start migration tool, paste URL, export)
If there was a button "Open in ShareGate Migration", that would save quite a few clicks.
Thanks for always listening to the suggestions :).
Kind regards,
1 voteHi,
With Sharegate 5.20, we ported the Export from SharePoint directly in the Explorer and the Reporting section. You can get more info on this here : https://en.share-gate.com/blog/box-migration-and-new-reporting-features-for-sharegate

New in Sharegate 5.19 (just released) : Action Sets in on-prem Nintex workflows will migrate to O365 as a “Runif” block with the condition set to “True” (so it will always run). This keeps the container aspect while migrating.
Note: Nintex has just released Action Set for O365 in the same time frame. We’ll change our feature asap so that on-prem Action Sets are properly migrated to O365 Action Sets, but we were already working on the conversion to Runif so we’re releasing this as a workaround to avoid further delaying those who wanted to migrate Action Sets.
