Export Report to PDF, Email, SP library, etc.
Export Report results to...
- a SharePoint list or library instead of to Excel so all users can see it and set up alerts on it
- in a CSV format
- a PDF file
- send by email, even automatically send some of the reports to the site owners for example
- a fileshare, or drive of your choiceAlso able to do so with Custom Reports.
285 votesThis has been our number one request in what seems like forever, but with today’s release of ShareGate Desktop, we can finally have a new number one!
We’ve added the ability to automatically export reports and migration reports to a SharePoint document library upon completion of the task. By leveraging the power of Microsoft Flow (or workflow for on-premise users), you will be able to move that report to wherever you want, be it email or PowerBI.
The options can be found in the setting screen of the report or in the options tab for migrations.
We know we don’t cover the PDF part of the request, but we encourage to go vote for it here: https://feedback.sharegate.com/forums/912880/suggestions/38625361

Review Auto-Assign as Site Collection Administrator Process
Review the way Sharegate uses the auto-assign feature
- Handle differently per type of site (OneDrive, Groups, Team sites)
- Setting per tenant / farm / connection
- Option to auto-remove after each operations
- Handle special cases (eDiscovery sites, NO ACCESS or Read-only)
150 votesWith today’s release of ShareGate Desktop 14.2, we have changed how we handle the auto assign as site collection administrator process.
You will now have more granularity over what the auto-assign will affect (only sharepoint or one drives, but also only on some specific farm/tenants).
The application now also allows you to remove the administrator where it was assigned, so simplify the process of turning off this feature if you want to.
Thanks again for you feedback, it really helps us create a better product that works for you.

Migrate Microsoft Teams Chatrooms/Channels
Support migration of Microsoft Teams
-Conversations
-Channels
-Content
-TabsOriginal post:
We need to do a tenant to tenant migration of Office 365. Your tool looks like it could aid with that, but my question is about Microsoft Teams migration. Aside from the Teams content that is in SharePoint, I have not found any supported method to other content from teams such as chats and channel conversation. Is Sharegate working on this?
119 votesGood news!
Starting today, you can now migrate Microsoft Teams using ShareGate Desktop. This is the first version and we will keep improving it over the upcoming months. For the full release notes, please see: https://support-desktop.sharegate.com/hc/en-us/articles/360043621432

Migration Planner & Scheduler
Would like to:
- Ability to schedule migration
- Ability to schedule incremental migrations daily
- Schedule migration today to run on Friday
- Schedule a migration through the UI
- Create plan60 votesWith the latest release of ShareGate Desktop, it is now possible to schedule the migration through the UI.
This should allow you to easily migrate at off-hours or at any time that is convenient for you. This also allows you, if need be, to schedule a recurring migration.
The time, date and recurrence of a schedule migration can be modified through the Scheduled Tasks UI.
We know this only covers the schedule part of this suggestion. If you want to vote on the planner part, please do so on this new suggestion we opened: https://feedback.sharegate.com/forums/912880/suggestions/38066314

Be able to change it for many sites at once
Copy the values when migrating52 votesHello from Sharegate! We released Sharegate 7.1 last week and we are happy to let you know that you can now create a new report on Site Collections or Sites with “Access request e-mail” and “Allow access request” filters and columns. From there, you can edit the “Access request e-mail” in the properties displayed in the Quick Actions panel (in the report or directly in the explorer). Emptying the field will disable the “Allow access request” implicitly.

Update connection login or password
Hi,
I noticed that when I changed by account password. It did not allowed me to access the content of a site and I didn't find any option to update my connectivity to the site but to disconnect and connect again.
I would love see an option to update password that is used to connect to a Site Collection.Thank you.
45 votesWith today’s release, we added the ability to edit the credentials used for a connection.
It can be done through the connections dropdown.

Ability to Automate the Export of Scheduled Reports
Some users would find extremely practical to be able to have Sharegate automatically export the scheduled report to a predetermined location on drive. This would help bring them to meetings, and help team manage their SP environments.
38 votesWe’ve added the ability to automatically export reports and migration reports to a SharePoint document library upon completion of the task. By leveraging the power of Microsoft Flow (or workflow for on-premise users), you will be able to move that report to wherever you want, be it to a local drive, email or PowerBI, etc.
The options can be found in the setting screen of the report or in the options tab for migrations.

Migration to Office365 Groups
Migration to Office365 Groups
34 votesSharegate now fully supports migration to both Team sites connected to Groups and Communication sites.
Currently this is achieved by toggling the site’s DenyAddAndCustomizePages setting, which requires Tenant administrator role. We are working with Microsoft to enable a way in O365 to support the features without the need for this setting.

SharePoint Inventory report details
Ideally I would really like to be able to drill into the environment via the Inventory tool. Sort site collections by size, number of sites, workflows, etc. Find the lists/libraries that have the most items or largest space usage.
For the Errors and Warnings section of the Inventory tool, I'm not sure what value it provides to say X number of sites have custom master pages or unsupported templates without telling me what site they are.
It looks like nice very high level start but it's missing many of the features the File Share Inventory has.
33 votesWe’ve just release Sharegate 5.15 where you will find Inventory details for SharePoint and O365 like:
- List of Site collections and Sites
- List of Unused site
- List of SharePoint 2010/2013/Nintex Workflows (reusable, list or site Workflows)
- Warnings and errors for migration planificationIf you have any other questions, just let me know and I’ll be happy to help. And have a fantastic Monday!

Merge teams - Copy content and conversations from one team to another
My organisation has one very large tenant and a small test environment we hardly ever use. Will it eventually be possible to copy the contents of a team to another one in the same tenant?

Rename scheduled tasks
I rely on being able to rename my tasks. Otherwise, it's generic like "Copy 100 items from Documents to Documents". I need to know what site/subsite it is, and so on. It appears there is no way to rename a scheduled task, even when it's a recurring one. Only the migration report generated after can be renamed.
29 votesHi everybody!
You’ll be please to hear that we can now rename a task when scheduling it. You can see the full release notes here: https://support-desktop.sharegate.com/hc/en-us/articles/360049530252-Release-13-2

Rename Tasks
File migration jobs have a default name that cannot be changed. This creates lots of jobs with (near) identical names making it nearly impossible to determine which job is which task.
Make that option available in the UI and for Powershell jobs
29 votesWith today’s release of ShareGate Desktop, you can now rename your migration tasks, both in the UI when you migration has started or in PowerShell using the -TaskName argument.
I’m closing this suggestion as we don’t plan to do it for reports. If this is something you wish to have in the future, please don’t hesitate to submit a new suggestion.

Filters in the Explorer
- Filter OneDrive for Business, Sites Collections and Groups
23 votesHello,
I decided to split this thread (previously named “Favorite Scope and Filter in the Explorer”) since the filter part has been done a while back.
