+1 here as well. Stopping us from looking at Sharegate as an admin tool as they like to have everything from one supplier.
As well as granular restore service config restore would be great.

Love ShareGate (light for install, easy to use and learn, well designed and architect, comprehensive perspective) and hope this feature (backup/restore) be added soon so we don't have to look for another 3rd party.
Ideal world feature list required:
Backup both manually and schedule base. Granular as SC,site, lib. Export options to store it into another on-promises environment or on network share.Restore Options: to restore one lib, site or SC. be able to restore into another site (not only in-place restore), be able to restore data back from Network drive or On-promises into O365.
Some common scenarios:
- be able to search for a file name/lib name (which has been deleted) inside our backup then restore it
- be able to archive some of our SP project sites (which has been completed and not need to be on O365 anymore) for long time on network drive and in case needed just search for one/two specific files
-be able to backup on O365 and restore on-promise and vice versaWe are not living in ideal world so any of above would be appreciated.
Great job as always!

It would be awesome if there was a backup and restore feature.

It would be good to have a Sharegate product that does data backups/restore for SharePoint on-premise servers.
