The owner of a site is complaining that her users aren't getting alerts for changes to the content. I would like to be able to send her a report showing her which user have alerts set up, which lists they're set up on, and what the frequency is.

My scenario :

Large list which needed a choice column update due to business rules.

Choices "A", "B" and "C" were changed to "+++", "++", "N" respectively.

I have over 350 people with alerts on the list and over 2000 line items. All alerts are set to immediate update via email.

That's alot of emails flying around. The need to be able to disable alerts temporarily or have an export of names and settings, then delete the alerts, make the changes, reinstate/import the previously saved list of alertees.

I created numerous alerts for others in a specific library and want to audit my changes. I would really like to be able to see what alerts are currently active.

An example that we are facing to right now: There's a library with lots of documents. It's the library with the most user Alerts (hundreds). We now should delete old, outdated documents from that library. If I did this without further thinking, an alert for EVERY deleted document might be sent to HUNDREDS of users, as most of them probably set "All changes".

I I could disable alerts temporarily for this library (or, at least, for the hole site), till I have deleted the documents, this would be very very helpful. I am aware I can disable alerts with powershell, but this isn't what I want.

Also would be nice to compare alerts before and after migration to ensure they were all moved (and without causing the alerts to fire)!!

In addition, it would be nice to have a report prior to migration and then after migration to check that all the alerts were moved.

We use Announcement lists to post team updates and then set up alerts to Azure AD groups. This way covers attrition to and from the team automatically. Some staff outside the team also choose to opt-in subscribe via User Alerts. I'm often asked "who else outside this team is subscribed to our alerts?" Some document libraries also have user alerts so people know when a new white sheet or user guide is posted. I'm asked who is subscribed to these alerts as well.

I get asked quarterly to report on NEW subscriptions, so if the date they subscribed is tracked that would be nice to know and be able to filter on.

I do have a workaround to use the browser's DEV tools to copy the HTML list code, then parse it out in Excel to get the names to send. It's a mild hack per list, but it would be nice to be able to do this for all User Alerts across all lists and libraries on a site at once. There's no date, so I have to manually compare month to month to see new user alerts.

Another vote for having a report of user alerts on a site

In addition to all suggestions, it would be very helpful for us to also see what kind of alert users have set (New items, all items and so on), including if the alerts will be sent immediately etc. etc. And most useful would also be to delete all those alerts and/or to change setings for all (or selected) alerts. We once had another tool that was able to do so. An state of the art: It would be SO helpful to be able to DEacitvate alerts for certain libraries temporarily!

Would be nice to have a report that shows who has alerts setup on a site, site collection, and/or maybe even down to the list or library level. Search filter by person an option as well

A user leaves the organisation. Their account is removed from active directory. Their user object does not get removed from Sharepoint, and their alerts remain in place. This generates undeliverable messages each time an alert is sent to the email address in Sharepoint.

How can I tidy up all the alerts for a given user, without having to visit each site and remove the alerts for that user?
Can we do it something using ShareGate ?

I would like to be able to list user alerts filtered by site or by user, showing which object/list is targeted
Example: show me where "user X" has alerts
Example: show me which users have alerts within "site A"

This will most likely not be implemented by the time it will matter, but since we can't migrate user alerts, a report would be appreciated. I'm sure a powershell can be done currently, but having it as a report would be convenient.

I 4th(?) this. The functionality to remove orphaned users is fantastic, but it would be more awesome if there was:
1.) An option to remove alerts of orphaned users while cleaning up orphaned users, and
2.) an option to run a report to find orphaned alerts(?, I'm not sure what to call them).

When migrating from on premise to O365 the user alerts won't migrate. Is there a report I can run to get a list of those users and their alerts? Thanks. Carlene
