Email Notifications about Tasks and Migration Status
Option to receive automatic email notifications
- When a task is done
- Migration status
- Completion (with details)
- Errors / Warnings / Skipped items

Hi everyone,
Since ShareGate Desktop now allow us to automatically export migration reports (and other reports) when a task is done to a SharePoint library, you may easily setup a Microsoft Flow or workflow to notify you when a task is over. If you need some inspiration, I wrote a blog post on how users can leverage Microsoft Flow to share reports by email: https://sharegate.com/blog/use-microsoft-flow-automatically-send-sharegate-desktop-reports
It’s not a native way to get notified, but a nice workaround you could use until we add official email notifications (if we do at some point).
Cheers,

Hi,
is there a possibility to set up an Email notification once a migration is finished?

The blog post only works for reports.
I'd like to be notified when a task completes or have the option to turn on an email notification when a scheduled task starts and completes instead of babysitting the interface.
Sometimes we have jobs that we have to start after a previous job completes so it'd be good to not have to check every so often to see if the job finishes so we can start the next one. -

Hi team,
Can we have an option to have a SMTP email message when a job is finished?

It would be nice to include a feature to send email notification when a migration completes which includes the migration status and errors if any.

I was able to achieve this via powershell, using the same script they supply on site, import-document via csv. Send-MailMessage -From $From -to $To -Subject $Subject -Body $Body -SmtpServer $SMTPServer -port $SMTPPort –DeliveryNotificationOption OnSuccess}#>

Yes, I was just looking for this feature. When ShareGate is running in a different instance, desktop notifications, etc. aren't helpful. We need to receive an email when long running tasks are complete with a brief summary.

Would be great to have the ability to receive migration task notifications.
We are using migration task as a temporary solution to copy all new files or updated files from the source. And we run this task daily on schedule. But instead of checking daily resulkts of this task would be better to get an email with results and in email we can be more flexible and create rules in case it contains errors, or other condiitons we need to pay attention. -

The new scheduler is great! Is it possible to add an email notification to the end of a schedule? Otherwise there isnt a way to know it actually ran? :)

Allow to enter Admin email address before running a migration task so that when the migration has completed, Sharegate will notify the Admin person via email.

It would be so wonderful to receive email notifications when a job finished succesfully or failed. We have to keep logging in to check the progress of our jobs.

It would be very helpful if when a migration completes, the results could be exported and saved automatically then the saved file emailed to the address/es specified.

I would love to be able to receive e-mail notifications from Sharegate when my migrations finish. Often there are additional steps that I need to take once a migration finishes. Right now, I have to continually open up Sharegate to see what the status is. This includes weekend migrations. It would be ideal if I could just monitor my e-mail via my smart phone to know when a migration is complete, rather than having to continually interrupt my weekend to get my laptop out, connect to VPN, log on to our system, and check the status, only to find out that it's not yet complete.

When I am running a migration using the Sharegate Migration tool, it would be great if I could receive notifications via e-mail that a migration has completed so that I don't have to continually keep checking up on it. That e-mail would ideally list the source and destination locations (paths) in case I have multiple running at the same time - this would allow me to quickly identify which one has completed. A summary in the e-mail would be nice too (# of files successful, warnings, errors, etc.).

While the log file for a migration is very good, it would be great if there was an option to get an alert or notification via email of the skipped or error items from a migration. Especially when run through a PS script. We have been finding lots of missing items after the fact, that we have to go back and recopy. In most of these cases we are talking about large sites (5GB+), so it's hard to check the logs when we are batching lots of them together. We have been migrating from our on-premise SP 2010 and SP 2013 farms to O365 and this would be an awesome feature to have. The ability to select what type of items to alert on would be nice too so we have the option of selecting "skipped", "error", etc..

Get Sharegate to send mail confirmation (or somehow confirm) when a job is done
