Usage reporting and analytics - Event counts (views, deletion, etc.)
-show number of views to a site, or a document.
-show number of visits and of unique visitors.
-show trending content.
-show number of other audited events.
-show most active users.
-Run it on the entire farm and show stats by sites.
The goal is to monitor internally the user's experience with SharePoint.

Since audit reporting was decremented in 2013 and forward, there is not a tool that can quickly show the top visitors, visitors in *** days, number of hits, etc. We are asked by our customers where they can see site traffic.

Does Sharegate have any web traffic reports similar to usage report in SharePoint?
SP Usage Report Desc:
This report shows historical usage information about the site, such as the number of views and unique users. Use this report to identify usage trends and to determine times of high and low activity. -

it would be nice to have all the reports in one place - ShareGate !!
easily accessible, scalable, searchable, easy to drill down in details
ever so nice if was possible to present it in grafs to the site owners. We NEED it for SharePoint on-prem!!!

Most viewed files at the subsite level (not having to address the entire site collection which often times the audit log out) would be very helpful.

File VIEWS and DOWNLOADS are extremely valuable to know and not part of the OOTB reporting. For example, HR policies may not be updated for a few years but are still relevant. They don't show as modified lately and therefore can be seen as obsolete. Other docs, if not modified in 6-12 months can be archived no problem. There's no granular file level reporting from Microsoft. This data is captured in the O365 audit logs but Microsoft's response was to "use PowerShell" as usual. It would be really nice to report on a given library on how many people viewed or downloaded a PDF, Excel, etc.

In our enterprise, the support of site collections is divided by regional IT organizations. We don't have admin or server access. It would help to be able to see the usage of the ~150 site collections we manage without having to visit each one and run the popularity trends report.

These would very much be like farm, site collection, and site analytics. So we could see site usage by visited sites, accessed documents, frequent users, etc. I would assume this report would be on demand, or scheduled, so in our case we would run it daily, or weekly to pull out the data put it Power BI to create dashboards to track the trends on our farm.

One report area where Microsoft's reports are lacking, and that I get asked for frequently by users, is a report of file views and downloads. The Last Modified dates do not reflect the popularity of a document in a library, just when it was last edited.
For example, HR policies may not change for three years but are still relevant
Being able to run a report on how many views and/or downloads for all of the files in a library, list, or even all the libraries in a site, would be extremely helpful. It's not enough to know just what's "popular". I'd argue it's MORE important to know what's unpopular, i.e. obsolete, and can be archived or removed completely. This would help us be able to have tangible reporting to apply against our data retention and records policies.

Reporting on when a file or list was last accessed (not just modified) is the MOST frequent reporting question I receive. Having a report that can provide this information would help with data retention policies and archiving of unused files, freeing up storage, which will naturally clean and trim search results by removing obsolete results.

Please also add most visited documents by library and users who viewed documents

Will it be ok if you add Popular Items, Popularity Trends (which will show documents being viewed by users a lot) reporting capabilities to your product ? In this way Sharegate will also help in getting usage analytics data for site collection, Site, Document Library and Documents

"I would love to be able to report on low usage pages/docs where "ViewsLifeTime" can be filtered and exported for our organisation.".It would be great if we could report on views/popularity.

- show number of times a document had been opened.
And ideally have te ability auto export scheduled tasks to a SharePoint document library.

Can you guys add a report to quickly see how many clicks a page, list or document got. That would be awesome.
Thank you!

Why does this only have 2 votes? SP2010 had it right... 2013 and up has been a nightmare to get aggregated farm analytics. This feature would do so much for me and my organization.
- Hits overall (past 7, 30, 90, 180, 365 days)
- Most viewed Sites
- Most viewed files
- Most frequent users
- Browser used
- Device used
- OS used
- etc... -

Feature request. Getting usage data in SP2010 was pretty simple. We now are using SP2016 on prem, and getting usage data quickly and easily is not really possible without putting in some effort up front. I'd love to see usage reports among the report options in Sharegate.

It would really help migration planning if a single report could drill down through a site collection listing all subsites and list and the size and last usage.
Please!
Thanks

A report that display site storage usage, would be really helpful.
You have the Size on the basic details report, but a nice graphical summary would be good.. may be an option for all site collections? -
