Workflow Reporting
- Find all workflows that are running or in-progress
- See the name of the workflows
- Run report on workflows, out of the box, SP designer, Nintext, 3rd party
- Be able to create a report that will list the status of the workflows
- Report on workflows published by a specific user
- Report on how many workflow tasks are assigned to a particular user

We’ve release a version of Workflow reporting a few months ago and are trying to figure out where we are going with this.
Please tell us what you would like us to add to this feature.

Our agency is trying to run a report for all the list workflows within our tenant. One of the requirements is getting the author of the workflow and the timestamp.

To have the ability to see the timestamp of the workflow and when it was last run in the workflow report

Hello ShareGate, I realize that there is some workflow reporting, but it doesn't supply some critical information. A report that shows running workflows could be processed before a migration so that steps may be taken to stop it or have the assignee complete their task. It would be good if Sharegate would list ALL workflows and not skip Nintex unless you have the license. It would still be nice to know what has to be manually done for Nintex workflows.

We've had a few comments concerning what fields are visible in the workflow report (especially the associated list and content type)
This limitation is actually due to the fact that the workflow report is an aggregation of site and list workflows. Since site workflows don't have an associated list and content type, we can't display that information.
You can actually build a custom report to do what you want to do. Simply go to "All reports" and then select "create custom report". From the drop down list, select "List workflow" as the object type. The two columns you want will actually be added by default, but you could also add other columns you are interested in.
We'll take note and see how we can improve this experience if we decide to modify it in the near future.

I utilized “Workflow report” rather than “Lists with workflow report” as it shows me workflows of a whole web app or even the whole farm. However, the "Workflow report" results don't show useful results, especially when we're dealing with workflows associated with content types (as Nintex Resuable Workflows). We see in the report there are several workflows in several lists, but we don't the the actual associated list or associated content type. But you already have this information: when I select a single result item, I see this information - however, there's no column in the report for that. Please contact me if you need more clarification. This lack of information make the whole workflow report thing in ShareGate completely useless.
It would be great if the “Workflow report” could contain a column for the “Associated List” and the “Associated content type”. Could not be a big deal, as the information is already there, isn’t it?!

Hi Team
I am trying to make all my Nintex WFs on a SharePoint Online Site start manual only, as I am planning to migrate incremental content on all libraries where I have all below WFs.
I trying to do that in the SG Workflow Report , see capture below, but I see no effect upon checking the WF on the site. :(
Could you please let me know what I am doing wrong? -

Hi,
Is it possible to generate a report of running workflows using ShareGate Desktop?
Thanks

Has there been any progress with adding a filter to the workflow report so that we can report on workflows that are in progress/running?

Does Sharegate have the ability to give us a list of running workflows? Nintex workflows specifically in my case. I'm wondering if the Migration analysis report could give us a list of the workflows that are still running. From what I can see, it only gives me the number of workflows, but not how many are actually running.

It would be extremely useful to see a list of currently running workflows. - Thank you.

It's nice we can report on the lists with workflows. That remains incomplete. Even just the workflow name would be a huge help. I figured out how to do it with PowerShell, but I like the point and click and export capabilities of the ShareGate reports.

Hi guys,
would be really helpful to get this feature. It saves me running powershell scripts which needs to be performed from the server itself.
Best regards

I have the Nintex version of Sharegate and it would be awesome to have reporting capabilties for workflows.

One issue we constantly deal with are failed and stuck workflows. I would love to see a feature that allows management of workflows. In particular the ability to terminate workflows that are stuck in an error occurred or failed on starting (attempting restart) condition.
We have lists with several thousand stuck workflows. Terminating manually is time intensive. Server side PowerShell scripts are cumbersome due to increased security for access to servers. -

I would like the ability to export workflow history to Excel. I wrote a powershell script that has helped me achieve this, but it would be a nice feature for Sharegate

By far the most important thing to report on workflows is their name and location, of course. You need a proper list with the name and location of each workflow in the web app or site collection. This is an obvious need and SharePoint OOTB doesn't help you one bit with that. It's also surprisingly hard to script, since 2010 and 2013 WFs are handled differently. A script that lists 2013 WFs and their locations is quite different from a script that lists 2010 WFs, and also more complicated. Of course, you don't care if they are 2013 or 2010 WFs, that's just MS messing things up. You just want to know where the heck your workflows are, especially if there are hundreds or thousands. Apart from name and location, it would also be nice to know if the workflows are OOTB, SPD, 2010, 2013 or Nintex and who created them, how many running instances they currently have, how they are triggered etc.

I am looking for the list of SharePoint 2013 workflow as Microsoft is no longer supporting share mailbox in it but still we can use it in the 2010. So trying to generate a report which can show me throughout the tenant.

In addition to knowing if a list or library has a workflow associated with it, I would also like to know:
1. Names of each workflow associated with each list/library
2. The workflow Start Options for each workflow (manual, on create & on change.
3. Nice-to-haves would be Description and names of associated Task and History Lists -

I don't know if I reported this. I am doing a List that has a Workflow report and I wonder if there is a way to show if it's a 2013 or 2010 workflow? I do love that I can give my developer the listing "these are our workflows" :)
