If you are still thinking about it since February 2018, you are not interested.

It would be so nice to be able to create a report, click a button and transforme it into a control liste and simply click the desired permission for each participant, and then apply it.

2.5 year of thinking? Update would be good and a working solution perfect :)

Could you include an option in Sharegate of removing a user's permissions from SharePoint? I am using the Permissions Matrix Report to identify where users have access, it would be nice if I could check a box to remove a user's permission completely (including deleting alerts that have been created and the hidden site collection user list), or from a list of groups to which they belong, and where they have been added explicitly. This feature would really speed up removing a user's permissions. It could be similar to the way that the Checked Out Documents Report allows check in etc. on selected items.

I'm using the (very handy) Permissions Matrix Report while I amend the permissions assigned to entire sub sites in SharePoint.

As I make changes to the site's permissions, it would be useful to simply refresh the report to see how the matrix has changed as I iterate.

Could you please consider adding a Refresh Report button to the report screen, maybe at the top, to the left of Expand All Groups? It may also be worth putting an Are You Sure? prompt behind it, so people don't accidentally lose a report they may want.
