Convert Web Parts and Pages from Classic to Modern
During a migration, have the ability to convert Site Pages and their classic Web Parts to their Modern version (when it exists).
- If a Classic Web Part does not exist as Modern, it should not be converted.
- Custom Web Parts should be ignored.

Hello everyone,
After a review of our roadmap, this suggestion is not a high priority at the moment.
With all the improvements that were done to the SharePoint PnP Modernization framework (https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/sharepoint/dev/transform/modernize-userinterface-site-pages) over the last year, we feel like this is a solid alternative right now to convert classic pages to modern ones so we decided to put our efforts in adding more migration capabilities (Teams migration coming soon) to our tool instead.
We’ll keep the suggestion open and will monitor the comments and feedback and will review it in the future.
Thank you,
-

Hi! Do you have any updates on this?
We have been using Sharegate for a long time, mainly for content migration. However we are soon to begin migrating structure and content for sites from SP2013 to Sharepoint Online. This feature will be extremely helpful to expedite the migration process. -

In addition, if for some reason we don't want the classic page converted during migration, it would be nice to have the option to 'not replace' the current modern home page (renaming current modern home page to something else). This way, the Site Owner could use their classic migrated page if desired, but also has the option to still use the modern home page.

Thank you. The ability to convert classic to modern pages would definitely be helpful -especially when migrating to Office 365 Groups so Site Owners can more easily access the controls for Group Members and Site Permissions.

It could be a great tool for modern UI adoption!

Please building upon the ConvertTo-PnPClientSide page framework so that we can more easily migrate publishing, wiki and web part pages

We are about to migrate our Sharepoint 2010 sites to modern o365 sites, so we could really use this feature! We are using Sharegate for more then 4 years now...

Currently Sharegate is unable to migrate any pages from a classic or modern site, to a modern site. This can be a major issue for organizations moving modern sites from a tenant to a new one, or just trying to preserver certain elements from the source
