Add Modern Authentication option in Sharegate (SAML, OAUTH2.0, OIDC, WS-FEX,etc )

When are ShareGate even going to acknowledge that there is a serious issue here? If you have any large scale automation to perform then not having a robust unattended modern authentication options (e.g. Azure App plus certificate) basically cripples the software. Relying on the browser to handle token renewal is error prone and does not follow the recommended method. This is not what most people would accept to be "modern authentication". Is this even in the roadmap?

We have automated scripts that need the use of Modern auth. Allowing an application to authenticate would allow us to work much more efficiently. Basic auth has been disabled in our organization, so this is a must.

I agree. Our organization disabled basic authentication already in June. so we are at a standstill to be able to efficient keep using Sharegate until this changes.

I'd like to resonate with what Vikas mentioned. 10/01/22 is a critical date where all automated migration method users/admins will have to find alternative solutions away from ShareGate, and we do not want that. We direly need the OAuth implementation, please!

With Basic Auth in process of disablement from Microsoft side around Oct 2022, we urgently need an alternate option to authenticate using Modern Auth in addition to Browser Authentication. The option such as using SharePoint App Only principal or Azure AD App Only principal will be good to use PowerShell scripts for migrations.

I would second this. I don't want to leave my Admin account logged onto an application to allow it to run automated reports. Setting it up to use a service account, with modern auth would bypass issues with MFA and session timeouts.

Due to an excessive amount of phishing email and out of an abundance of caution, we've had to disable "other" client apps from connecting to Azure.
We've had to add exceptions to the policy to allow Sharegate (and other apps) to work but we'd prefer to not have exceptions wherever possible.
