Filters in the Explorer
- Filter OneDrive for Business, Sites Collections and Groups
23 votesHello,
I decided to split this thread (previously named “Favorite Scope and Filter in the Explorer”) since the filter part has been done a while back.
The new thread for “Favorite Scope in the Explorer” can be found here: https://sharegate.uservoice.com/forums/911563/suggestions/34445389

Smart search or autocomplete search box in Explorer
It would be great to have a smart search or autocomplete search box for when you are looking to quickly connect to a site collection using part of its name.
19 votesSharegate 5.23 now presents a whole new experience in the explorer. You can now filter by site collections, OneDrive for Business and O365 Groups, and search by name or URL.

Bring back the web application level selection in the Explorer
Can’t I just pick one web application and Sharegate would know about all the site collections in that web application? I seem to remember this was possible in the older Sharegate 5+ series.
12 votesWe heard you were looking for your web apps… look no further. We listened to your feedback and brought them back to the Explorer!
Thanks for you for helping to build a better product everyday!

Separate or filter O365 Groups From other Site Collection
All of the groups now appear along my site collections, which make it a whole mess to actually get a Permissions Matrix Report of what I need. Could you divide the actual Site Collections from the Group Sites? As in Microsoft Admin Center?

In explorer view, It would be nice when looking at all the site collections in a web application, if I could sort by URL instead of the name of the site collection.

Download single file with Download Content features
Client would like to be able to use the Download Content feature of the explorer down to the document level. He has several documents across site collections in his farm that he needs to search and download and right now, he has to download the whole library or list.
6 votesWith today’s release, we added the ability to download only some files in a document library.
This can be done either directly from the explorer or with the results of a report on documents (which will allow you to filter for desired documents).
Hope you enjoy that new feature.
Don’t hesitate to give us feedback, we always appreciate it!

Allow listing of office 365 groups with other permission levels than Global admin
Currently, the graph API will only allow us to list O365 Groups with Global Admin Rights. This limitation prevents some user from using Sharegate to manage the groups when they can in fact, access them with lower permission levels outside of Sharegate.
4 votesWith the release of ShareGate Desktop 12.0, SharePoint administrator will have access to listing Office 365 groups, if and only if the Global admin have consent the permissions for the Office 365 application.
The procedure to have your Global Admin consent is available here: https://support-desktop.sharegate.com/hc/en-us/articles/360033358471-How-can-a-Global-Admin-grant-admin-consent-of-the-Azure-ShareGate-Desktop-app-to-all-users-

Can you add file count and item count at the list level?
It would be an amazing help if you could add file and document count for a list at its root. A lot of times when we're looking to migrate a list we know it has say 5,000 items, but because we cannot see it in ShareGate, we have to go back into the site and look it up by name, which is a bit tedious at times. If we could see the file and item count at the list level that would be a great help.

Change group owner in Sharegate
Anthony wants the Owners security group members to be able to manage group memberships, in order to do that he needs to change the group owner from the site collection admin to the "Owners" group. It should be added to the transformation options for a group object when editing one in the Explorer.
3 votesWith the release of ShareGate Desktop 11.0, it is now possible to set Security Groups as owners.
Thank you for your feedback and don’t hesitate to do it again in the future.

Good evening!
Thanks for using Sharegate!
You can now delete SharePoint objects directly from the Explorer. Depending on the object type it might move to the (or one of) recycle bin or delete permanently!
Have a nice day!

Invalid Administrators for Groups Site Collections
Sharegate identifies the Universal Group Owners an invalid Administrator for every site collection associated with a Group. As this is default behavior, perhaps this should not be identified as "invalid."

Search to include sub site names
The new explorer update is great, we can get to all the collections, but makes it hard for those people with subsites.
I know subsites are now considered evil and the Microsoft Sharepoint world is now flat. However some customers still have subsites.
Would be great if the search capability included the sub site names.
Thanks
Phil Worrell2 votesGreat news from Sharegate!
With Sharegate 7.0, you can now search for subsites in the explorer! See this blog for details : https://en.share-gate.com/blog/a-brand-new-unified-and-intuitive-migration-interfaceEnjoy!

Ability to do a multi site selection in the Explorer
I'd like to be able to select multiple select multiple sites in a row by clicking a keyboard key and then select first and last item. Currently, I need to select them one by one.
2 votesHello from Sharegate!
It is possible to select different objects by clicking anywhere on the line. Hold shift and click on another line to select in bulk. It is also possible to select one line and hold ctrl before clicking on other lines to multi-select. We heard you and adjusted the area of the select box so you have fewer chances to lose your selection when using the select box.
Hope that helps! -
Be able to hide O365 groups and ODFB
When connecting a tenant using the admin URL in the Explorer, it would be nice to be able to select if we want to include or not O365 groups and OneDrive for Business or be able to hide them. That way, it would reduce the chance to accidentally run reports on ODFB or Groups when not intended

Ease the slection of multiple sites
Hi There !
I wanted to chack if any personal site was public by launching a permission matrix report... To do that I would have to click one by one the site I want to scan...

Adding AD group as Site Collection Administrator
Under the Explorer tab, when you select a site collection, you can add or remove Site Collection Administrators. This is a nice feature, as traversing and making changes to Site Collections runs smoother and faster through Sharegate, than running through SPO's Admin Interface.
The problem I am running into is we have several Human and Service account Admins that need to be added to every single site collections. Rather than add them individually we have created an AD Group object called SP_Admin. This contains all SPO tenant admins and is an easier grouping to add to the Site Collection Admin…

Show broken inheritance in the explorer
Something that allows to identify the broken inheritance visually in the explorer.
1 voteGreetings from Sharegate !
We released Sharegate 7.2 this week and I think you’ll be happy to know that we added a “Broken Inheritance” tag in the explorer. So when you navigate inside your site collections, there is now a visual indication that the object has custom permissions.
As always, your feedback is more than welcome, let us know what you think!
