Review Auto-Assign as Site Collection Administrator Process
Review the way Sharegate uses the auto-assign feature
- Handle differently per type of site (OneDrive, Groups, Team sites)
- Setting per tenant / farm / connection
- Option to auto-remove after each operations
- Handle special cases (eDiscovery sites, NO ACCESS or Read-only)
150 votesWith today’s release of ShareGate Desktop 14.2, we have changed how we handle the auto assign as site collection administrator process.
You will now have more granularity over what the auto-assign will affect (only sharepoint or one drives, but also only on some specific farm/tenants).
The application now also allows you to remove the administrator where it was assigned, so simplify the process of turning off this feature if you want to.

License manager tool
Access to a license manager for multi-license holding organisations that would:
-show the last time Sharegate licenses were used for each user

Since the Sharegate was updated to 5.21, a new license manager was added to the tool. This new license manager allows users to Rename their activations as well as deactivate any unused seats. Do not put an application shortcut when upgrading
Holy ****!!! PLEASE for the love of Pete STOP putting a freaking shortcut on my desktop after every update!!! I can't stand software that does that!!! RAWR!!!! -- but seriously, love the product, except for that monstrous annoyance!!!! Once I got so frustrated that I accidentally deleted half the stuff on my desktop. Fortunately I had a backup. Ugh!!!

It took a while, but it’s finally there!

Make error records in reports exportable
Just working through our OneDrive sites trying to get match up sites with users making sure everyone has one provisioned.
As I have no access to the site the site with basic details report fails on a large number of them. I still howveer need to extract the info it did retrieve.
I can export the results but not the errors, yet it is the errors I need to fix.2 votesHello,
Thanks for taking the time to post this idea! When exporting a report you can find an Error Tab inside the excel file. From there you’ll be able to see them and fix them.

End User Information for each machine code
A way to identify who currently has a seat in a multi-user license

- Activation Name
- Activation Email
- First Name
- Last Name
- Activation Date
- Expiration Date
- Machine CodeIt’s now easier to identify who currently has a seat in a multi-user license.

ShareGate Version Number
Installed 5.20 yesterday. I was hoping to find an easy way to find version number in app to confirm, but can't find it. (I was looking for an About dialog box.)
Perhaps include ShareGate version number in the Title bar that also serves as a link to more information about the version?

Diagnostic mode inside the administration tool

Start Diagnostic Mode - only in Migration, I don't know if this feature can be put into the Sharegate product and not just the migration, as it would be helpful to give to you!1 vote -

Can make the pick users or groups box larger? Some of our group names are around 20 characters.
