Flag O365 groups that have no members (and owners - if that's the case) and help us simplify the clean up process.
- From the Assistant or some kind of report
Archive unused groups:
To own local region storage: Add storage in local region, that would satisfy some people's security requirement, instead of storing archived groups in ShareGate's storage.
To a preferred Azure storage: There should be an option to archive Groups to other storage, like Azure.
To a specific SharePoint site in O365 for which only IT would have access
To internal Filesharing solutions or own file servers.
Hello everyone! We’re glad to tell you that with the latest update (1.13.0), you can now set up and use your own Azure storage in ShareGate Apricot to archive unused Office 365 groups in your environment.
Here are 2 links from our documentation center to help you get started.
We would love to get your feedback on this new feature, so don’t hesitate to reach out to us at firstname.lastname@example.org, or right here in UserVoice.
I like the idea of selecting multiple groups from the Groups page and doing a bulk action.
- For example, adding an owner, removing a member, deleting the selected groups, etc.
Great news! You can now add owner, add a group purpose, Entrust, Keep/Archive multiple groups in bulk with ShareGate Apricot!
Visit your Groups page to try this new bulk action.
Have an epic day!
The ability to sort / search the activity list. I want to see every deleted activity.
- Sort by deleted, created, entrusted, date, time
- General search by group name, owner name, type of activity.
With our latest release, we’ve added filters to help you find out the right information you’re looking for.
You’re now able to filter by activity type, by date range and user.
Please do not hesitate to comment to let us know how you find it and if you have any suggestions for improvements.
I'd like to be able to modify group owners/members directly in ShareGate Apricot.
For example, add and remove owners/members.7 votes
Starting today, it is now possible to modify the group owners and members of any group.
All you have to do is open the group details and take action within the membership area.
Resurface groups that have no owners and display it in the app
- In the Assistant or Groups page6 votes
Ability to clearly identify the groups that no longer have any valid owners left, and to prompt for us to entrust someone else.6 votes
With ShareGate Apricot, we are now able to flag orphaned groups within your environment and see owners that are deactivated or unlicensed.
Easily filter private and public groups in the Groups page.5 votes
It is now possible to filter public or private groups in the Groups page :).
Make the stats clickable (drill-down).
Ability to click on the “Archived groups” and “Kept groups” to see what makes up the stats.4 votes
We’ve released a couple of weeks ago the Dashboard which lets you get a clear view of your tenant and be able to see a filtered list of groups and also see a filtered list of the decisions made by owners.
It would be great if we could see the size of the data and/or total number of documents rolled into a column in the summary. So when reviewing the archive if the site was empty I can remove those without having to click each item individually to see the details to determine if they should be removed or not
Important columns to add:
- Content size or number of items archived in the group
- Workloads used4 votes
In our latest release, we’ve added the size for each archive as well as who decided to archive the group.
Please do not hesitate to continue commenting on this suggestion if more visibility is needed.
Link to SharePoint site in the Groups page4 votes
This has been released in production.
A clickable link to the SP site is now available at the top of the group details page.
Add a link to those activity or be able to click on the name of a group and the app gets you to that group’s details page.3 votes
This has been released.
In the Archive page, we should be able to see within the list and the details of archived items the person that decided to archive the group.
- Group owner(s) and/or IT admin(s)3 votes
In Archive, it is now possible to see who decided to archive the group from the list of Archived groups.
Admins should always have the right to override owners’ decisions.2 votes
In our latest release, we’ve added the possibility to archive manually any Office 365 groups for admins.
This way, if an owner decides to keep a group, you can always override their decision if needed :).
We should be able to complete the same actions in the Groups page (within the list), as in the details of a group. For example, we have to enter an unused group there in order to make the decision to keep or archive it; which slows the process.
Allow the same actions in the list next to unused groups as in their detailed page.2 votes
You can now complete the same actions directly in the groups page as in the details group page!

Thanks a lot for your feedback and this great idea!!!
Have a great day!
Aggregate info on a tenant wide basis. Would like the assistant cards to reflect all the inactive groups together across the tenant, not a card after the other.
• Per tenant, not necessarily based on time.
• E.g. Maybe last month’s inactive groups detected, inactive groups detected and not acted on.1 vote
We’ve released the dashboard couple of weeks ago which does that :).
It shows the inactive groups accross your tenant as well as help you deal with inactive groups which require action.
Have the possibility to switch groups from publics to private and vice-versa through ShareGate Apricot.1 vote
In our last update, we’ve given the possibility to switch the privacy of groups within the group details.
“View & edit email sent to users” section is too hidden. When the button is at the bottom of the page, unless you notice the change in scrollbars, you don’t know there is anything below to look at. Add an indicator or force some spaces below the button so the top of the email will appear.1 vote
We’ve changed this behaviour a couple of months ago. It now opens a window to configure the email.
Having the ability to manually initiate an archival would be really useful.1 vote
It is now possible to manually archive any Office 365 group within ShareGate Apricot.
Clearly identify the buttons in the Archive page; for instance, the Copy to OneDrive for Business button.
- By adding a tooltip, a description or anything else1 vote
This will included at our official release coming soon!
